MINI ANALYSIS OF DANISH FEMICIDES 2022
In our mapping of the killings of women in 2022, we can conclude that one woman was killed every month, but our report also shows that these killings can be prevented. As a society, we must become better at recognizing warning signs and risk indicators—such as destructive jealousy and controlling behavior—in order to prevent the violence (2024).
AN INTERNATIONAL LITERATURE REVIEW
Of intimate partner homicide (IPH) and intimate partner violence (IPV), as well as an analysis of court rulings in Danish homicide cases.
In the report, we carried out this comparison, and the results are striking. There are three key parameters in which the Danish IPH cases differ from the international research (2023).
MAPPING AND ANALYSIS OF DANISH FEMICIDES 2000–2021
In 2021, the Center for Violence Prevention mapped 240 femicides committed between 2000 and 2021. The analysis shows that men are responsible for the vast majority of femicides, while jealousy is the most frequent motive. These findings underline the importance of preventing gender-based violence before it results in homicide (2021).
LITERATURE REVIEW ON INTIMATE PARTNER HOMICIDE IN DENMARK 1933–2017
We have conducted a literature review on homicides in Denmark with a focus on intimate partner homicide, which is a form of femicide. Here, we highlight that many types of femicides cannot be identified in the available homicide statistics in Denmark (2019).
ANALYSIS OF DANISH FEMICIDES 2023
This report presents an analysis of the Danish femicides in 2023. It examines key patterns, contextual factors, and risk indicators in order to strengthen understanding of lethal violence against women and support future prevention efforts.
